[Part 2]

In-House Sub-Status

Explained

Lesson #1 Now that all your Claims will have a sub-status assigned to them, you can assign your employees and departments to be responsible for each of their own sub-status groups (or Buckets as we refer to them) and monitor those Claims daily, hourly or to whatever policy you assign to each sub-status.

Now, all an employee or department does is monitor their sub-status (buckets, i.e., 000, 001, 002, 003, 100, 100A and so on). How is this done? Simple!

Click on the CDA Tool Bar Tool called "Custom Search" > Then either select a "sub code" or leave all fields blank (recommended), and after the search is complete, you can download the excel file > filter the sheet, then review "sub code" column and you're all set. ** Power Tip > Sort by "Date In" so you can work on the oldest Claims first.

Lesson #2 How can high level managers take advantage of this? This is the best part of all. You now know where all your Claims are by the department, and you know how many Claims are in each department. You can identify areas of concern by focusing on "Date In" (identifies aging Claims), and where Claims are being ignored, or maybe you don't have enough resources to clear out buckets (too many Claims in anyone sub-status group). Now you can take action.

*** Power Tip > most high level managers will run a custom search 2-3 times daily to make sure jobs are flowing throughout your departments, and that Claims are being billed as quickly as possible.
